I love traveling the country on my 2004 Harley Davidson Heritage soft tail and photographing the great sites of the open road. This road trip I tried, and was very successful in shooting throughout the trip without having to cart around a computer. They are difficult to pack on a bike. I used the P5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer from Epson for a demo and was so very happy with it I may just go and get one today. гардероби

It made life so great. All I did was place the Compact Flash card into the unit at the end of each day and download the files. We were able to look over the better images that night using the gigantic screen and select the files that I want to work on once we get home. The unit uses the same star rating that Photoshop uses making it very user friendly.
I only remember plugging it in three times during the whole two weeks. I was very conservative in using it and once done turned it off right away. I am sure that I will use this fabulous tool again and again while on the road.
I was even able to download images from friend’s SD cards while we were at it. Mostly
to get the files of me from them while on the road.
Epson has really hit it out of the park with this tool for the photographer on the move
who is concerned with weight. As we say in the military. Oz = lbs and lbs = pain and anything that reduces the load while backpacking hiking or in the field is a good thing.

Well I finally did it. I bought another camera body. I am expecting my new Nikon D3 to arrive in Wisconsin for my trip camping with family. We are all meeting for a family reunion for the 4th of July and then a camping trip up North the next weekend. I actually am sitting in the airport writing this post.

I have really grown used to the Navy supplying the best gear to its Sailors for a long time and it was a bullet to bite in purchasing another camera body. I have had the opportunity to shoot with some of the best that Nikon has to offer for a very long time and am fortunate to have been accepted as an NPS member by my friends at Nikon. See “http://www.nikonpro.com/, more about NPS in latter posts.”
I love the D1h that I have and my D70s is also great camera. My kids love that I have handed it down to them now that I have the D3 coming. I have shot with the D3 and the D3x “thanks Vin, www.versacephotography.com/” and really love the speed of the D3. I look forward to owning one of my own now. I again am not going to list off the specs that you can read off the companies web site or the great reviews at http://www.dpreview.com/news/0708/07082312nikond3.asp but I’m here to tell you that this is the future in a camera you can have today.
High speed shooting: This camera is making our use of Night Vision (NVG) a thing of the past. In most situations in modern conflict shooting we end up with missions primarily at night. This has made the need for good NVG a necessity. We contracted a company to take an aviation grade NVG just like the one on our helmet and adapt it to the camera with a Nikon mount and a quick clamp. It has produced good green images of night ops and is still the preferred way to shot at night in the open. But in modern urban areas the surface light available even at night is making the Nikon D3 a piece of equipment joy to have. We are collecting images at High shutter and ISO speeds without the need for night vision adaptors and we are actually able to use real photo lenses again. “Horary” Night patrols with a camera and lens and no need for another $4000.00 piece of gear is a blessing for sure, Gear = weight ounces = pounds and pounds = pain. Remember caging your gear for 12 hours is a normal occurrence.
I know this is only one thing that marks this camera Great, but anything that make hard job easier is Great in my book.
So here is to a new camera for me. “Horary” My purchase is an easy decision based on a military combat tested experience. I hope that you enjoy your camera as much as I already enjoy the Nikon D3.
BTW the gear was a great deal at Cameta Camera. Hope that your purchasing experience is as good as this one has been for me. More about the camera and some images as soon as it arrives later this week.

Playing with a new EPSON P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer in preparing for my next road trip.
That’s the easy way of saying that I am testing & evaluating the gear for use with our teams.
This piece of gear will let me carry fewer cards and get my camera back to shooting.
I love the heck out of this thing.
The chance to not to have to carry a laptop and card reader to download my cards for a two-week trip is great. This piece of gear will never replace a laptop for getting the images to their final destination but not packing the laptop for this trip is a benefit. If I am not going to have access to Internet then all I need is to get the images off the card and keep shooting. m not going to list all of the how-to’s of the product anyone can down load that from the Epson site but getting back to working is my biggest benefit experienced with this Viewer/Hard Drive.
Backing up a card to get ready could not be any easier. Place the card one of the slots on top of the unit and the directions on screen make viewing or backing up as simple as making one choice. I am next going to test how often I can run the unit on one charge so see if I can eliminate the plugs.
See you back here soon for the results of this test. Way to go EPSON!

I am really looking forward to this opportunity to get with some of the greatest student ever and share one mans approach to managing work flow so that you can be more productive in your art.
